Various types of auxiliary tools are often required to perform mechanical and electrophysical tests.

The potential drop method (DC PD) is used to investigate crack growth for CT and SENB specimens. The main software is integrated with the loader software, but the instrument can be controlled from an external loader with a trigger signal.

The LVDT sensor (Linear Differential Transformer) is used to measure the tensile strain, ductility and corrosion crack growth of the CT sample. Cormet does not manufacture LVDT sensors itself. Cormet supplies calibration tools, data acquisition systems, LVDT holders, and can provide integration with Cormet's loader software.

Extensiometers and clamps are typically used to measure strain and corrosion crack growth for CT specimens under normal conditions. Cormet does not manufacture these instruments, but is able to supply and integrate them with test cells and software.

The potentiostat is the basic electrochemical testing tool. Many brands of potentiostats can be used with Cormet electromechanical tools.

Cormet's loader software includes an ACM Gill AC potentiostat control routine with the ability to record measurements (potential and current) to a file.

Data from other potentiostats can be read into the software using an analog signal or the RS-232/485 port.
